Investigation of Viscous Behavior of CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 with Cr Containing

  In view of the importance of chromium containing slag with respect to the stainless steel,high-alloy steel production,the experimental studies on viscosity were carried out in the present study by rotating-spindle method in the temperature range of 1340-1520 ℃.The results were indicated that viscosity increased with the decrease of temperature and the increasing amount of CrOx.The relationship between reciprocal temperature and viscosity in logarithm obeyed the Arrhenius equation,and the activation energy lied in the range of 212 to 256kJ/mol.As to the effect of basicity,when the amount of CrOx is less than 5%,increasing basicity led to the decrease of viscosity,and when the amount of CrOx was 7%,with the increasing of basicity,the viscosity decreased at the early stage and then increased afterwards.
