Slag Crystallization Behavior Pertaining to Heat Recovery
Thermal energy of slags represents a major energy saving potential in the metal extraction processes.In this article,evolution of methods for energy recovery from slags is reviewed.Dry granulation and heat recovery as a potentially favorable method is discussed in details.The crystallization behavior of slag and its dependence on cooling rate and slag composition are discussed from both fundamental point of view and its relevance to simultaneous energy recovery and glassy slag generation.
