The Mechanism of Oxidation of Carbon and Absorption of Nitrogen a Liquid Fe-C Alloys in Flow of O2+N2

  Kinetics of nitrogen sorption by Fe-C melts under surface and titrimetric oxidation in flow of oxygen containing 0.2%of nitrogen under the initial metal temperature of 1350-1600℃,C= 0.8%-3.8%,oxygen flow = 1.2-9 LPM is studied.It is discovered that boundary layer contains an excessive chemical potential of nitrogen compared to the nitrogen content in gas flow.
