Measurement Error Analysis on Properties of Steelmaking Slag with Fluoride
The control of slag properties is the main aspect in steelmaking process,so getting the accurate data of relevant properties of the slag is very important.In the heating process,the volatility of fluoride in slag can deduce the measurement error,such as melting point,viscosity and so on.In this paper,the volatility of some typical slag is measured with DTA/TG.The evaporation dynamic mechanism is studied.The error range of the slag properties caused by fluoride evaporation is analyzed.How to get the accurate properties data is discussed.With the evaporation of fluoride as well as the relevant reaction,the slag composition has changed.As a result,the melting point and other properties measured is not the one of original slag.It is suggested that based on the measurement method widely used now,the properties of slag with higher fluoride content should be modified combined with evaporation mechanism.
