Practice in Increasing Ultrasonic Testing Pass Rate of Die Steel
Basically,BV30 is produced by ingot mold casting in Baosteel.The weight of the ingot is 28.77 ton and the rolling thickness of products ranges from 110mm to 450mm.Meanwhile,the production of alloy die steels including 1.2311,1.2312,718,P20,B30PH,B40,are widely accepted by the customers with the growth of die steel.However,the qualified rate of products is affected by ultrasonic flaw detection.The reason of the low qualified rate was analyzed based on defects and process data.Furthermore,improved measures were suggested to reduce the endogenous inclusions and avoid foreign inclusion during BOF,refining and ingot casting process.Consequently,mentioned measures were applied to improve the purity and internal organization of ingots.
