Analysis and Control of Hot-Rolled Surface Inclusions of Low Carbon Aluminium Killed Steel

The study investigated surface inclusions of hot rolled strips of low carbon Al-killed steel, especially focusing on the principle of surface inclusion in the process of medium-thin thickness slab casting following after LF refining procedure.Factors affecting the calcium treatment have been investigated,it is established that such practices attribute to stabilize the efficiency of calcium treatment remarkably, including reducing the T.O content of liquid steel during LF refining by process optimization, and decreasing re-oxidization of liquid steel in tundish by improving the performance of refractory utilized in tundishes. The problem of mold flux entrapment, taking place in steady casting process, consequently leading to surface inclusions, has been solved by optimization on the structure of SEN and the performance of mold powder.
