Reliability Design of Molded Case Circuit Breaker for Latch Skip Prevention
By analyzing latch skip phenomenon occurred in double breakpoint molded case circuit breaker (MCCB), this essay has summarized main reasons for latch skip as follows: 1.Malfunction of the primary tripping mechanism;2.Insufficient overlap surface between the draw bar and the lock catch of the secondary tripping mechanism;3.Insufficient overlap surface between the jump pin and the lock catch of the third tripping mechanism.Through simulation analysis, main parts, including the jump pin, lock catch, draw bar, striker, indication bar, etc., are redesigned after optimization.It can be seen from the test results that latch skip failure rate is significantly decreased and operation reliability of the breakers is increased.
