Effect of Confining Pressure on the Failure of Model for Reinforced Concrete Slab Member

  Experiments were carried out to examine the effect of confining pressure on the failure behavior of models for slab member using block type reinforced earth retaining wall and reinforced soil.The result showed that the bigger confining pressure was given,the less damage of member,bending of rebar and relaxation of reinforced soil were produced.Thus,coefficient of lateral pressure should be considered for underground structure blasting and increasing confining pressure due to concrete or asphalt should be considered for practical application.
