Regularities of the Formation of Submicron Particles at the Explosive Destruction of Rocks
Results of experimental studies on assessment of dispersed and mineral composition of submicron particles after explosive rock breaking. While conducting experiments to assess dispersed composition of particles used optical and electronic microscopy, laser spectrometry and x-ray analysis was used to study the mineral composition. The regularities of distribution of the generated particles in the size range 0,1-10,0 microns. It is noted that the mineral particles for most rocks are maximum in the distribution by number in a range of sizes to a few microns. The resulting distribution can be explained from the standpoint of increasing the strength of the particle with the reduction of their sizes, and from the point of view of the mineral composition, one factor of which is the content of quartz.Considered the mechanisms of formation of submicron particles at the explosive destruction of rocks. It is noted that the mechanism of formation of submicron particles resulting fragmentation and the formation of new surfaces,is the most common and is implemented with the destruction of rocks regardless of the type of treatment.Developed the experimental method for the study of the patterns of formation of submieron particles directly at the time of destruction of rock samples.
