Airtightness Measurement in Large Buildings;induced pressure difference
Airtightness measurement for small buildings can easily be conducted by using fan pressurization method. However, it is difficult to achieve accurate measurement results for large buildings.Especially, measured value of pressure difference can be different from other floors of the building if the building is tall.In this paper, we studied the principle of airtightness measurement using fan pressurization method. And, we analyzed on pressure measurement method appeared in ISO 9972, EN 13829, ASTM E779, JIS A 2201, ATTMA TS 1, and CAN/CGSB 149.15.We conducted airtightness measurement for five-story office building in order to investigate vertical pressure difference across building envelope when the building is pressurized. As a result, we confirmed that the vertical pressure difference across the building envelope can be intensely different from the induced pressure difference at the first floor.
