Social and Spatial Transformation of Immigration Villages
With the rapid urbanization, in China people living in rural area prefer to immigrate to urban area.Immigrants who could not afford renting in the city center always gather in villages near the city.In this immigration process, the spatial structure of original villages is changed.To discuss the spatial transformation of immigration villages, this paper focus on the question that what is the spatial differences between immigration villages and organic ones.Site survey and Space Syntax were used as the main methods to compare the transformed villages and original ones.Two villages which are near the city Harbin were studied as the cases.This paper is significant to reconstruction and management of immigration villages.
