Comparative Research on the Culture of Subway Station in China, Japan and Korea
Subway has been playing a significant role characterized by green transportation in modern metropolis.The openness and inclusion of subway station has generated distinctive architectural language and subway culture, which can be reflected on the mutual effect and restriction between the passengers behavior characteristics and the regional culture.These factors have also contributed to developing the subway culture vice versa.This paper explores the diversity of subway station under the influence of different urban culture and attempts to give new explanation about the significant role of culture in promoting the evolution process of subway station design, through a series of comprehensive analysis on the passengers behavior characteristics and the relationship among the built form, spatial scale and internal decoration in Beijing, Tokyo and Busan.
