Significance of Vertically-Oriented Layout Temple and Subject on Conservation in Preah Vihear Temple, Cambodia

　　In Khmer temple, there is a type of layout planning, which place sanctuary and each buildings beside the axis to enhance abstrusely and holiness of the deepest shrine gradually.Mainly there are 2 types, which are terraced slope style and plain style.terraced slope style temple adapts into geographical constraints, presents the long causeways and gopuras (terraces) repetitively from the foot of the sacred mountain, and configures main sanctuary with gallery on the top of the mountain.Temple Preah Vihear is the representative example.In plain style, Pr.Thom in Kor Ker (about 930s) and Banteay Srei (the late 10c) are typical examples.
