On Historic Relation to Contemporary Architecture of China
After retrospection of nearly one hundred years of Chinese traditional culture influence in architecture design, a question of historic relation to contemporary architecture was studied.The word relation here used specially to identify the situation of architecture design after 2000 year which seems different from the before in its treatment of traditional architecture and its culture.The relation could be divided into three parts such as Form relation, Spirit relation and Culture relation which could used to describe the different kind of aspects and levels.Then on expression of contemporary architecture design relating to historic culture which was divided into five part: space, material, color, symbol and artifacts.By using the examples selected from projects mainly designed after 2000 year, the expression of idea inside design relating to historic culture was studied especially compared with its appearances before.Finally, by reflection of the manner of historic cultural influences on contemporary design,a conclusion was put forward that in order to absorb more health from history, more need to be studied.
