A Discussion on the Training of Architectural Material Design Through Phenomenon Analysis and Installation Making

　　Selection and application of the materials is an important link in architectural design.However, the design training centering on materials is quite scarce in current architectural education system.Based on practical cases, this article discussed the training method which started with phenomenon analysis and explored specific architectural materials by the making of installations.Phenomenon could reflect some spatial or time features of material.Installation is the concentrated expression of specific topic.Full size making is helpful to master the processing properties and limitations of material.This training could lay certain foundation for the students on materials exploration and creative application in the future.
