Preparation of polymeric insulation foam from flotation tailings
Polymeric foam insulation board, made from bauxite tailings, is an inorganic material to replace traditional organic materials in external insulation system.Based on the analysis of the formation mechanism of foam insulation board, the influence of foaming agent types, mixing amount of polymeric foaming agent and foaming temperature on the mechanical and thermal performance of polymeric foam insulation board were investigated.The relationships between the pore-structure and properties of polymeric foam insulation board were studied.The results revealed that uniform closed pore structure and high mechanical strength of pore wall were favorable for the mechanical and thermal insulation properties of the insulation board.
