Key technology development of bayer process in china
The key technology developments of the Bayer Process in China in the recent 10 years has been reviewed in this paper.Floatation-Bayer Process and Lime-Bayer Process have been applied in China widely to deal with high silica diasporic bauxite.These two processes were developed based on optimization and modification of the Bayer process.A completely indirect preheating process was developed by setting up an intermediate retention stage for silica and titanium mineral reactions in the Floatation-Bayer Process for saving energy.An adaptable lime addition technology was developed for the Lime-Bayer Process to improve alumina recovery from bauxite and to reduce caustic consumption as well.The high temperature and high caustic liquor should be applied in Bayer process for diasporic bauxite.An Efficient and Intensified Bayer Process has been developed based to improve the Bayer efficiency for systematically saving energy.A Bayer-Hydro-chemical Process has been studied for enhancing alumina recovery and reducing caustic consumption when processing high silica diasporic bauxite.Based on application of these technologies the modified Bayer processes did become the main production process to greatly reduce energy consumption and improve performance of Chinese refineries.
