Study and Industrial Application on Clinker Digestion Process by Low Sodium Carbonate
Low caustic molecular ratio and high sodium carbonate concentration is generally used in the traditional sintering process, and the concentration of sodium carbonate is controlled within 16~22g/1.However, in innovating series process of alumina production, sintering coarse liquor 100% is merged into Bayer process, and it has brought a series of negative influence and serious harm due to higher sodium carbonate content.Basing on mechanism research of sodium carbonate concentration to clinker digestion process, the experimental research is carried out for clinker digestion of low sodium carbonate and red mud settling performance.It showed that under the condition of low A/S clinker digestion, theres no unfavorable effect on clinker digestion and red mud separation, as the sodium carbonate concentration of coarse liquor is 8g/l or less.This topic research enriches clinker digestion theory.The industrial practice of low sodium carbonate digestion shows that the combination process is in steady operation with sodium carbonate concentration 5~8g/1 of coarse liquor.It reduced effectively negative influence to alumina production by combination process duo to higher sodium carbonate in merged coarse liquor, and the economic efficiency is markedly.
