Research on Reducing Pot Bottom Voltage Drop of Aluminum Cells
Pot bottom voltage drop is one of the most significant factors for aluminum cells.It is an important energy-saving approach to reduce the bottom voltage drop, and there are many influencing factors.On condition of good bottom status, cathode carbon blocks, ramming paste, material and specification of steel bar, installation process, and welding effects are all the key factors influencing bottom voltage drop.Based on substantial data statistics, this paper makes analysis on the influences of carbon blocks, steel bar and ramming paste property;in consideration of numerous industrial practice and research on the conductivity of various raw materials respectively at room temperature and high temperature, it analyzes the formation and influence amplitude of bottom voltage drop;and then put forward a comprehensive energy-saving solution from cathode materials selection, installation optimization, construction quality guarantee and other aspects.
