Investigation of effect of 6-α transformation during homogenization heat treatment on fracture of intermetallic particles in Al-Mn-Mg alloy

  This study start with the features of the 6-α transformation (i.e.transformation from (Fe, Mn)Al6 phase to α-Al12 (Fe,Mn) 3Si phase) during homogenization heat treatment in Al-Mn-Mg alloy.Groups of sample with different transformation levels were obtained by respective homogenization methods.The effects of α phase content and the inner Al spots on fracture of the coarse intermetallic particles during hot rolling were also discussed.
