Research of solid solution treatment process like in air-cushion furnace for 6016 aluminum alloy auto body sheet

  In order to study process of air-cushion furnace productive line for aluminum alloy auto body sheet(ABS), by means of high-speed hot air circulated furnace, the influence and change rules of microstructure for 6016 ABS with solid solution time and cooling mode,and the influence of mechanical property, formability and bake hardening ability before and after baking were studied.Through microstructure and XRD analysis and tension test, harden test, cup of convex test, results show that: the change rules of secondary phases in Al alloy matrix and development of recrystallization with solution time increasing by air quench(AQ) is similar by water quench(WQ);With solution time increasing, the soluble phases, such as Mg2Si, Al1.9CuMg4.1Si3.3, Al0.56Mg0.44 are dissolved gradually into Al matrix, and wholly dissolved when solution time greater than 5 min, but insoluble phases such as Al2Fe3Si3 change little;The recrystallization rate of 6016 is very rapid, which is over when solution time is 1.4 min, but the size and shape of recrystallization gains change little when time increasing more;The experimental sheets strength, HV and formability(A, IE, n, r15) almost remain stable when solution time is greater than 5 min, mechanical property and bake hardening ability by WQ is slightly better than AQ, but the formability seems similar(A of AQ is slightly higher than WQ before baking);In addition, the shape by AQ is obviously better than WQ, so AQ can replace WQ for ABS sheet heat treatment.
