Study on Pitting corrosion of HIPed Stellite 12
This paper reported the analysis results from the SEM (scanning electron microscope)and AES (Auger Electron Spectroscopy) of HIP(hot isostatically pressed)stellite 12 in a 3.5% NaCl liquid medium. The aim of the paper is to determine thickness and the composition of the passive film formed at different HIP temperatures, different primary power size and link that to the corrosion properties. It has been shown that the alloy passivate spontaneously in air resulting in the formation of a thin oxide film comprising Cr and Co.film thickness is from 30 ~39nm.Electrochemical oxidation at different HIP temperature results in formation of complex layer, the composition and thickness of which depends on the HIP temperature and primary power size.Cl was detected in the surface layer ,but did not permeate in passive film, O enriched in 1.5nm under surface layer. This paper mainly introduced the influence of HIP temperature for space limitation.
