Research on Carburizing-Quenching Hardness Simulation of 17CrNiMo6 Inner Gear Ring

  Research has been done about the hardness simulation for the carburizing-quenching process of 17CrNiMo6 inner gear ring based on DEFORM, in accordance with the calculation rule of mixed phases.In the determination of the mathematical model for hardness calculation, calculation formulas are given which applied to low carbon content (C ≤ 0.5%) for the child phases and the martensite(M) hardness is calculated for high carbon content (C > 0.5%) in alloy.Then the complete carburizing-quenching hardness model built;with the influence of residual austenite (Arez) content on hardness considered, the hardness simulation data of tooth is corrected.Comparison shows that, hardness values after correction are close to measured values, proving the simulation is accurate.
