Study on Tube Rapid Design Combined with KBE

  To promote the quality and efficiency of tube design, the tube rapid design method is proposed to be combined with KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering) in this paper.Ontology is used to process the knowledge representation and modeling for tube design, and it is constructed to form the integrated tube design knowledge base along with the 3D model repository and parameter storage library.The case similarity criterion is presented to perform the knowledge retrieval in database.Therefore, the proposed tube rapid design method combined with KBE is constructed, and the special tube rapid design system is developed to automatically handle the tedious and repetitive design calculations by calling special executable file with prompting relative design knowledge momentarily.Finally, the tube design was completed by modifying the retrieved similar cases.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a certain monobloc tube design task.
