An Integrated Platform for Aircraft Conceptual Design and Optimization

  This paper presents the Aircraft Conceptual Analysis Design and Optimization(ACADO)platform that has been developed in AEROLab at Tsinghua University.The ACADO platform can estimate the performance of aircraft and optimize the design parameters in a multidisciplinary approach.It is focused on conceptual design of aircraft,which pursues an engineering acceptable accuracy with low computational cost.For given design objectives and requirements,the optimal values of the design parameters can be obtained.The interactions among aerodynamic,weight,structure and propulsion are comprehensively considered during the parameter assessment,which makes the variation of the design parameters as well as the design requirements able to be better reflected in the design objectives,such as the WTO and fuel consumption.To improve the applicability,analytical methods are preferred to statistical approaches.The architecture of ACADO and the assessment methodology are introduced.Furthermore,a study case is conducted by discussing the Mach number effects on the aircraft design results.
