Multivariate non-linear regression analysis on rock uniaxial compressive tests and prediction in coal-bearing strata

The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) is mainly influenced by rock properties, physical environment, test conditions and experiment error, which cause UCS present randomness and fuzziness. Many of uniaxial compression experiments have been conducted for the rock from the No.11-2 coal seam roof in Huainan mining area and 88 data were obtained.Integration into statistical analysis and stepwise regression of the test data, regarding UCS as the dependent variable and ρ, E, ρ2, E2 and ρE as the independent variables, the multivariate nonlinear regression predictive model (MNRPM) has been established by the professional mathematical statistics software SPSS19.0.By significant test of model, the relationships of factors influenced UCS are obtained.Based on application of MNRPM to be used to predict the UCS of rock from the No.13 coal seam roof in Huainan mining area, comparative results show that the model is reliable and appropriate to predict the UCS of rock located in similar coal-bearing strata.
