Evaluation of the possibility of estimating coal bed methane resources
Proved geological coal bed methane in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin are estimated at nearly 100 mid m3.Methane coal occurs in the subsurface as sorbed and free.The article presents an assessment of the possibility of estimating coalbed methane resources in the areas of mining exploitation me-thods using mathematical modeling.The research model for two coal mines, allowed the determination of the resources of methane sorbed, free and possibilities of methane in coal holes made from the surface, underground workings and the appointment of captured gas flow rate and the time of its operation.
