EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF HUMAN FACTORS IN CELL PRODUCTION SYSTEM
Major studies on cell production have put the emphasis on technical factors (machine order/ layout, family part grouping, workflow sequence, etc.), it is still insufficient to investigate how human factors affect the efficiency of manufacturing cells. In order to evaluate the impact of human factors more precisely, we have made a series of experimental studies. However, as the operators in all of these experiments were the students, it is necessary to clarify whether the experiment results obtained from the students can also be fitted to general people. In this paper, we hire 40 general people as the operators and make a new experimental study to conduct statistical comparisons of the students and the general people. We also extend our studies though investigating the effect of the operators age and their gender to the productivity of cell production. It was clarified that there is not a very significant difference in the means of assembly times between the students and the general people, meanwhile the operators gender affects significantly the productivity of cell production.
