SIMULATION ON OPTIMAL CONFIGURATION OF HANDLING EQUIPMENT BY FLEXSIM CT
In recent years, with the rapid development of container transportation and port market, the number of container terminals increased a lot and more competitive than before.One of the effective methods to improve the operational efficiency of container terminals is to optimize the configuration of handling equipment.This paper focuses on the operation of loading and unloading ship in container terminal.Handling equipment such as quay crane, trucks and rubber tyred gantry crane consist of an operation line.The least efficient handling equipment is the bottleneck of the operation line.In this paper, under the situation of quay crane capacity increase, a simulation on configuration among quay cranes, trucks and rubber tyred gantry crane is done, and an optimal solution on handling equipment configuration is obtained.The simulation is conducted by simulation software Flexsim CT, which also provides 3D visualization on the operation process of container terminal.
