SIMULATION-BASED INTERVAL ESTIMATION OF OPTIMAL SOFTWARE RELEASE TIME

  We discuss a simulation-based interval estimation of optimal software release time by using a nonparametric bootstrap method.And we also discuss three-types of bootstrap confidence interval estimation methods, such as basic, standard normal, and percentile bootstrap confidence interval estimation methods, for conducting interval estimations of model parameters and cost-optimal software release time.In our numerical examples, we show results of our bootsrapping method in estimating the optimal software release time by using the bootstrap confidence limit, and confirm that our bootstrap approach yields simulation-based probability distributions of model parameters and cost-optimal software release time without deriving these probability distributions analytically.
