A STUDY ON DATA ANALYSIS FOR DECREASING MOLD DEFECTIVE FRACTION IN AUTOMOTIVE RUBBER PRODUCTS BASED ON STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL

The rubber parts, of which the material is generally called dango are automotive products. The dango is made by polymer, carbon, and oil.The dango are made/cut under the weight specification, but the weight of them widely ranges. In this paper, we discuss data analysis for decreasing the mold fraction defective since there in a quality problem of satisfying customer requirements. On the other hand, the quality specification of the products has become strict for satisfying the quality requirements, which is difficult to be attainted with current thechnologies. In this paper, we conduct a laboratory experiment and apply a quality engineering approach to the experimental data to improve the mold fraction defective.Based on the design of experiment, we assess the time-dependent behavior of the mold defective fraction for dangos production by using a control chart based on the cumulative defect rate.Further, applying the cumulative defect rate model, a stopping rule is also investigated for determining when to discontinue the initial control of the production process and proceed to the actual production satage.
