A HYBRID GENETIC ALGORITHM FOR RESOURCE-CONSTRAINED PROJECT SCHEDULING WITH STOCHASTIC OVERLAPPING MODES
In new product Research and Development (R&D) project, the project makespan is often shortened through activities overlapping. However, overlapping will bring rework risk, and lead to additional time and resource consumption. Here, we investigate resource-constrained project scheduling problems with stochastic overlapping modes, with an objective of minimizing the expected project makespan.First, an optimization model is established. Then, we design a hybrid simulation based genetic algorithm to solve the problem.Lastly, a project management example is given to demonstrate the efficiency of our provided algorithm.
