ROOM SEATS ARRANGEMENT WITH CONSIDERATION OF EMERGENT EVACUATION
To focus on the analytical treatment of the problem, a simplified model is adopted to discuss the room seats arrangement under emergent evacuation.A unique exit door lies on a corner of the room and an aisle extends from the exit to the back of the room abutting against to a side of the room.The aisle is regarded as a series bottleneck and the evacuation time is increasing linearly with the ratio of traffic volume and bottleneck width.It is found that if the room is designed according to the optimal width, the aisle will keep on the same congestion level.Furthermore, if the room is fully occupied, the optimal width of the aisle should be an exponential function of the distance to the exit.
