Some Suggestions to the Utilization of Zhongdian Yak

　　Yak, a special present of natural to the alpine high altitude, is a unique livestock breed on Qinghai-Tibet plateau, characterizing with short body, long hair, solid hoof and resistance to cold and rough forage and performing well in the thin air of the mountains as packing animal.The present study was reviewed the current situation of Zhongdian yak including amounts of householder, breeding situation, meat production, milk and dairy products, wool yield and leather production.Some suggestions were put forward to the comprehensive utilization of Zhongdian yak, such as establishing yak breeding facility, establishing winter forage reserve, calf management and deep processing development of yak products.
