Survey on the Parasites of Alimentary Canal and Anthelmintic Effect in Zhongdian Yak

This study investigated the kinds, transmission conditions, infection and incidence of alimentary canal parasites in Zhongdian yak. Most grazing Zhongdian yak and cattle-yak were infected by Fasciola hepatica, of which the ova count exceeded the critical value of pathogenicity.Fasciola hepatica is predominantly species among the intestinal parasites while intestinal nematode was medium infection.30 adult female yaks and 30 female cattle-yaks were randomly divided into 5 groups, with each group had 3 yaks and 3 cattle-yaks.5 treatments containing different combinations of anthelmintic of dipterex, niclofolan + rosickyite-benzimidazole, avermectins, dipterex + rosickyite-benzimidazole, and dipterex + niclofolan showed better effects with medium dosage of anthelmintic on intestinal nematode, but a poor effect on Fasciola hepatica.Even using a maximum dosage of anthelmintic, avermectins still had no significant effect on Fasciola hepatica. In addition, a desired effect could be gained by combination treatment of dipterex and dipterex + niclofolan to cattle in Tibetan plateau of Yunnan province.
