Empirical studies on improvement and management of Hilly pasture in Korea
An experiment was carried out to study the effects of limestone and fertilizer on upland grasslands of invasions by red sorrel (Rumex acetosella L.) for 2years.Limestone applied 2 times (Sep 2013, Mar 2014) at the rate of 2ton ha-1 and fertilizer applied once (Mar, 2014) 210-170-170 (N-P-K) kg ha-.Soil pH was a useful predictor of lime responses.Soil pH had increased from 4.69 to 5.03 follow fertilizer applications and liming.The result show that DM yield production had increased from 2.75 ton ha-1 to 4.44 ton ha-1 by application of fertilizer and limestone.The forage yield was higher in the application of fertilizer and limestone pasture more than twice.In addition, red sorrel (Rumex acetosella L.) coverage rates have significantly decreased from 22% to 7%.
