Calculation of Shielding Effectiveness of an Apertured Rectangular Cavity Against Planar Electromagnetic Pulses

  Based on the equivalent circuit method and the Fourier transform technique, an approximate analytical model for calculating the shielding effectiveness of an apertured rectangular cavity against planar electromagnetic pulse is presented. The validity of the theoretical model is verified by the comparison with the full-wave electromagnetic simulation software CST. The effects of the apertures shape and size, and pulse width on the pulse shielding effectiveness are analyzed.
