A Positive Subject Tree-based Model for Early Diagnosis of Dementia
The World is stepping to aged population society and the senile dementia issue is getting worse than ever.According to the 2012 World Alzheimer Reports, thirty six million people have been claimed as dementia patients in the world.Family members ignore the dementia symptoms by misjudging them as normal degeneration of elderly. In fact, they are sick and need immediate medical treatment.Absent-minded,repetitive actions and speeches show up in the early phase and may have the character changing in the severe phase of dementia. However,it is possible to delay the symptoms by early therapeutic intervention.Data collected from an elderly healthcare center are classified into three age groups: the young,middle-aged and elderly.Box plots are used to discriminate the variations among three age groups and to find the frequent items. Then,a Positive Subject Tree(PS-tree)method is proposed to reveal the response times on different age groups from cognition examinations.Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed work.
