Investigation of brain-computer interface with hybrid stimulation of vision and somatic sensation
Objective We examined the effectiveness of three types of stimulation methods for a brain–computer interface utilizing fingers: lightening the color in an area of a finger image presented on a display(visual stimulation),electrically stimulating a finger(somatosensory stimulation),and simultaneously presenting both the visual and somatosensory stimulations(hybrid stimulation). Methods Nine healthy male university students(22–27 years old)participated in the experiment. Each subject sat in a relaxed position in a chair in a shielded room with their eyes open.
