Examination of detection capability of steady state visual evoked potentials using long-duration stimulus
Highlights Generally, humans communicate by talking and using gestures. However, people with severe motor disabilities such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)or muscular dystrophy may be unable to speak or use gestures as their condition progresses. They may only be able to communicate through slight muscle movements such as by moving a fingertip or blinking. Moreover,as the condition worsens, even this may be impossible.Fortunately, people with ALS or muscular dystrophy usually have normal sensory nerves.
