EXTRACTING FEATURES OF BRAIN TUMOR BY EDGE DETECTION BASED ON REFRACTIVE INDEX
The detection of correct edges(boundaries)of tumor from noisy images is still a very difficult task.The underlying task emphasizes on detecting the exact edges and boundaries of a particular tumor,and locating its position thus.In this case we have used an innovative REFRACTIVE INDEX based approach to enhance the image.The extraction of exact position using this technique is far easier as compared to other complex techniques.The performance and the robustness of our defined algorithm has been executed and tested in MRI images of Brain tumors.We found that the algorithm produced decent results,and next we have compared the results to other present age-old techniques like canny edge detection.The proposed algorithm is robust enough to combat noise in images.
