EFFECT OF MICROWAVE ACTIVATE ON COPPER TAILINGS ACTIVITY AND CEMENTING PERFORMANCE
The copper tailings have pozzolanic activity,but the activity is not high when used as cement admixture,so it needs to increase the activity by motivating with microwave.The dissolution quantities of Si4+,Al3+ and the material composition of copper tailings after activated were tested to look over the activity.And the effect on the mechanical properties and crystal structure of cement with motivated copper tailings were studied by strength testing,XRD,TG-DTA and SEM.As the results,composition of copper tailings such as calcite and dolomite show little changes,but α-quartz changes into β-quartz and chlorite transforms into spinel when power is high.The compressive strengths of Portland cement mixed with copper railings after activated at power 700W~900W by microwave were enhanced,hydration products crystalline degree was good,structure was dense,activate Si4+ and Al3+ dissolution quantities obviously increase up to 56.7% and 31.4% respectively at power 800W.When the copper tailings were activated at power 800W,the compressive strength is the highest and the hydration degree is the best.
