A New Control Scheme for 4WID Electric Vehicle Using DSP and CPLD
Owing to advantages of improved efficiency by removing transmission and available space on the vehicle, the four-wheel independently driven(4WID)technique has been widely used in electric vehicles(EVs)and hybrid EVs(HEVs).Based on digital signal processor(DSP)and complex programmable logical device(CPLD),a new control scheme for the 4WID system is proposed in this paper. The key of the proposed control scheme is to release DSP from complex operation by fully using CPLD.Moreover, the hardware and software structures are presented and discussed in detail.Furthermore, two fault-tolerant permanent magnet(FTPM)motors are used to verify the two front wheels of the 4WID system. Both simulation and experimental results are presented, confirming that the DSP and CPLD-based digital controller incorporates the merits of high reliability, stability, flexibility and real-time processing capacity.Hence, the proposed scheme is suitable for 4WID system.
