UNSTABLE SEGREGATION IN FLUIDIZED BEDS
This paper investigates unstable segregation effects in binary mixtures in a 2D fluidized bed experiment and corresponding CFD simulations.The effect of inhomogeneous segregation is clearly reproducible in for a mass fraction of small particles from xs=0.4 to xs=0.6.Numerical simulations with a hybrid DPM/Euler model show a similar behavior for initial inhomogeneities in the particle distribution.
