CFD MODELING OF RISER REACTORS USING MUTI-SCALE METHOD
For gas-solid riser reactors, the multi-scale structure of dense phase in the form of clusters and dilute phase in the form of a dispersed particle is a significant feature. Most of recent studies have focused on the development of the inter-phase drag model for heterogeneous gas-solid flow. However, the effect of mesoscale structure on mass transfer and heat transfer is also important during the reactions and should be considered in the model. In this work, we extend this relationship to n-order irreversible chemical looping reactions and the influence of clusters on chemical reaction is investigated.A cluster structure-dependent (CSD) drag coefficient model is incorporated to solve the inter-phase drag coefficient and provide local structural parameters. The local gas species concentrations and mass coefficients are obtained.
