COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS OF A DISK AND DONUT STRIPPER
In order to better understand the hydrodynamic differences between disk and donut strippers with and without vent holes, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models using CPFD-Softwares Barracuda(R) were used.Barracuda(R) is a Multiphase Particle-in-Cell (MP-PIC), Lagrangian-Eulerian hybrid code that is capable of tracking the entire particle size distribution Snider.Thus, it is well suited for modeling fluidized catalytic cracking and coking unit operations where the fines levels are known to have an effect on the hydrodynamics Beetstra, et al..
