LOCAL RISER VOIDAGE VARIATION WITH INTERRUPTING ONE CIRCULATING LOOP IN A SIX-CYCLONES CFB SYSTEM1
Local voidage in the furnace may be varied when one solids loop was interrupted in a 600MW circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler due to some unpredicted reasons.It may influence the safety and stability of the CFB boiler.To understand the local voidage variation in the riser while one of the circulating loops was interrupted partly or totally, the local voidages in the riser were measured on line in a cold CFB test rig with 6 parallel cyclones.When one solids circulating loop was interrupted, the local voidages in the riser all reduce exponentially with time.It will reach equilibrium after a period of time.However, this time is changeable along with the opening of the solids recycle valve and different measuring heights.Variations of each local riser voidage along the six cyclones have similar decline trends while interrupting any circulating loop.In the tests, the interrupting resistance was determined by the opening of the solids recycle valve.However, it does not change much before the opening exceeded a critical value.As long as the opening exceeded the critical value, the growth rate of the local riser voidage increases significantly.
