TECHNIQUE ANALYSIS ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF MUNICIPAL SEWAGE SLUDGE DRYING AND INCINERATION

  Incineration has become one of the main thermal treatments for the ever-increasing quantity of municipal sewage sludge.This paper constructs different drying and incineration systems by using ASPEN PLUS software, putting forward a comprehensive evaluation index, consumption of auxiliary fuel and electric power, on system economy.In this work, the drying and incineration systems utilize commercial data from three incineration plants in China.The results indicate that, when the moisture content of wet sludge is 80% and the calorific value as dry basis is 2000 kcal/kg, for disposing one ton of wet sludge, the consumption rate of coal equivalent is 62.38 kg with integrated incineration system in a circulating fluidized bed, 99.5 kg with semi-drying and incineration system, and 128.85 kg with power generation from frame dewatering and incineration system.It is obvious that the integrated incineration system in a circulating fluldized bed is effective to dispose wet sludge with the advantages of high energy efficiency and low operation costs.
