COAL COMBUSTION UNDER CALCIUM LOOPING PROCESS CONDITIONS
A dual-fluidized bed experimental apparatus was operated to study coal combustion behavior under Calcium Looping (CaL) process temperature condition.Semi-anthracite was burned in oxygen-enriched air in the regenerator. To evaluate the formation of CO and CO2 formed in the carbonator caused by oxidation of char, that was transported from the regenerator with circulating bed material, inert silica sand was employed as bed material.NOx formation in the regenerator was also measured. The effect of bed material size on formation of CO and CO2 in the carbonator and NOx emissions from the regenerator was investigated.A trade-off relationship was observed between char transportation to the carbonator and NOx emissions.
