HYDRODYNAMICS OF A DUAL FLUIDIZED BED FOR HYDROGEN GENERATION BY CHEMICAL LOOPING PROCESS

  Chemical-looping hydrogen generation (CLHG) is a novel hydrogen-production technology that is free to accomplish the hydrogen separation from other gases.In this paper, a dual fluidized bed was built and operated with respect to the hydrodynamics to identify the optimal operating conditions in CLHG process.The operating parameters that could greatly influence the solid flux and gas leakage (particle size, total bed inventory, gas flow rate) were studied.Considering the system stability, high solid flux and minimized gas leakage rate, the optimal operating conditions were 0.2mm-0.45mm particle size, 4kg total bed inventory, 1.98 of the fluidization degree of steam reactor, 43 of the fluidization degree of fuel reactor and 0.8 m3/h of the gas flow rate of loop seal.
